Mechanisms
Flavonoids and saponins contained in Amaranthus are known to have anti-free radical and antioxidant effects, which can slow down skin aging.

Research experiment
1) Amaranthus extract (Skinwell) has a significant anti-itch function.

Using butylene glycol as a control placebo, volunteers were divided into 2 groups, and the itch-causing substance was applied to the arms of the subjects, and then the amaranth solution and placebo were applied separately in a blind test, and the time and itch index were recorded. The experimental results showed that the amaranth extract had a significant anti-itch effect, which proved that amaranth did have anti-allergic properties.
