Pharmacological effects
1. Anti-tumor effect
The aqueous extract of raspberry was dried and dissolved in tumor cell culture solution (DMEM) to obtain different concentrations of raspberry pulp. The MTT method and morphology were used to detect the inhibitory effect of raspberry pulp on the proliferation of human primary hepatocellular carcinoma. The results showed that the proliferation of human primary hepatocellular carcinoma cells was inhibited by all concentrations of raspberry pulp, showing a dependence on drug concentration and duration of action. The aqueous extract of raspberry also showed inhibitory effect on matrix metalloproteinase (MM-13), and its inhibitory effect was significantly proportional to the concentration.
2. Hypoglycemic and lipidemic effects
A model of tetraoxypyrimidine-induced hyperglycemia was used, and 0.40, 0.80 and 1.20 g/kg of the aqueous extract were given continuously to observe its effects on fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance after glucose administration as well as the area under the curve, while a model control group was set up.
3. Antioxidant effect
The crude extract of raspberry glycoprotein can significantly enhance the activities of catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in serum, liver and brain tissues of mice with certain reducing ability, and can effectively scavenge hydroxyl radicals (-OH), superoxide anion radicals (O2--) and DPPH radicals, which have obvious antioxidant effects. Raspberry crude polysaccharide and purified polysaccharide have strong scavenging ability on oxygen radicals. Raspberry ethanol extract, ethyl acetate part and n-butanol part also had significant scavenging ability on DPPH radicals. Their semi-inhibitory concentrations (IC50) were 17.9, 3.4 and 4.0 μg/mL, respectively, and kaempferol, vanillic acid and linden glucoside isolated from them had stronger scavenging ability. The aqueous extract of raspberry protected rat primary hepatocytes against tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP)-induced oxidative contingency and significantly limited the decrease in cell viability.
4. Antithrombotic effect
The 70% ethanolic extract of Raspberry leaf had significant antithrombotic effects in in vitro tests, and the isolated kaempferol, quercetin and linden glucoside could significantly delay the plasma re-calcification time (PRT) in blood.
5. Anti-aging effect
D-galactose aging model was selected to investigate the anti-aging effect of tiliro-side. The results showed that oral administration of 60mChemicalbookg/kg body weight and 20mg/kg body weight of tiliroside significantly improved the learning and memory ability and increased the SOD activity of brain tissue in D-galactose aging mice (P < 0.05); oral administration of 60mg/kg body weight of tiliroside also reduced the MDA content of liver tissue and brain tissue MAO activity (P < 0.05), showing the promising application of tiliroside in anti-aging. The ancient formula "Wu Zi Yan Zong Fang" containing raspberry significantly improved cognitive impairment induced by Aβ25-55, reduced acetylcholinesterase activity and increased acetylcholine content in vivo, and significantly increased cell viability, increased superoxide dismutase and catalase activity, and reduced lactate dehydrogenase and malondialdehyde release in vitro. The formula also significantly reduced the rate of apoptosis and prevented the increase of intracellular calcium ion concentration. 6. Anti-inflammatory effect

7. Melasma removal effect
According to the color and area of melasma of the subjects, 108 subjects were randomly divided into a test food group and a control group, each with 54 cases, all of whom were female. The test food group was given raspberry extract for 30 d, and the control group was given a blank control. The subjects were observed for changes in the size and shade of melasma on the face. The results showed that the raspberry extract had the effect of melasma removal.
8. Toxicity
Acute toxicity test (maximum tolerance method), genotoxicity test and 90-d feeding test were performed on raspberry leaves in mice. The results showed that the acute oral toxicity test of raspberry leaves to Kunming breed mice was non-toxic grade; the results of genotoxicity test (mouse bone marrow cell micronucleus test, Ames test and sperm malformation test) were negative; the animals did not show obvious signs of toxicity and death when given to Wistar rats at 2.5, 5.0 and 10.0g/kg for 90d by continuous oral gavage.
